Therapy Dogs can bring a unique sense of connection, comfort and engagement into the school environment. Their presence can create opportunities for students to slow down, connect and participate in positive social and emotional experiences. Our Paws in Schools program is designed to complement your school’s existing wellbeing approach. Through carefully planned Therapy Dog interactions, we can support opportunities for emotional regulation, social connection, confidence, communication and positive engagement with learning. Most importantly, our programs are designed with the individual needs of students, the school environment and the wellbeing of our Therapy Dogs in mind.
We understand that every school community is different. Each has its own students, values, priorities and wellbeing needs – which is why we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
PawsPack works collaboratively with your school to develop a program that fits your environment and desired outcomes. This may include individual or small-group interactions, classroom-based activities, wellbeing initiatives, social and emotional learning opportunities, or support around particular areas of need.
Whether you’re looking for an ongoing program or a targeted initiative, we’ll work with your team to create safe, purposeful and meaningful Therapy Dog experiences for your students.
A thoughtful approach to Therapy Dogs in Schools, Workplace or Facility:
Successful Therapy Dog programs are about more than simply bringing a dog into a school. They require thoughtful planning, positive relationships and an approach that considers the needs of students, staff and the Therapy Dog. The PawsPack PAWS Model provides a practical framework for creating safe, meaningful and positive Therapy Dog experiences within a school, work or similar facility type environment.

We create opportunities for positive, respectful interactions between students and Therapy Dogs, with a focus on connection, engagement and enjoyable experiences for everyone involved.

Every student, situation and school environment is different. We continually assess what is happening, adapt our approach where needed and work towards meaningful outcomes for the students we support.

Successful programs are collaborative. We work alongside students, teachers, wellbeing teams and other professionals to ensure Therapy Dog interactions complement the support already being provided within the school.

Therapy Dogs can provide a natural point of connection, helping create opportunities for participation, communication and shared experiences. Our programs aim to foster an environment where students feel welcomed, included and connected.
